Daryl and Charisse,

Charisse Byron

e-mail: mizcb6646@msn.com

Hello to all the devoted fans of Hall and Oates. My name is Charisse Byron and I was born and bred in Queens Village, New York. As far back as I can remember I have been a fan of Hall and Oates. My earliest memories of them are from 1974 when I heard "She's Gone" for the first time. I actually talked my parents into buying me "Abandoned Luncheonette" on 8-Track!

I was fortunate to meet Daryl Hall and John Oates many times at various record-signings around NYC. A friend from high school lived next door to Daryl on Christopher Street and another friend worked at the cleaners around the corner from Daryl's apartment, so as you may have guessed I was there frequently. More recently I saw the guys at the Borgata in Atlantic City a few weeks ago (4 Dec 2004) and was privileged to sit in the first row. I caught three of John's guitar picks! It's difficult to pick a favorite album because their music is so diverse that my favorite songs change from time to time, but I'm really loving their recent soulful seventies sound. Daryl's voice has really matured into one of the better voices in his genre of music.

p.s. The attached picture is from 1991 when I was visiting family in California. My friends and I were walking down Melrose when I spotted Daryl walking towards us. I walked up to him and said "hi" and he actually remembered who I was from all the times I would talk to him in NYC over the years. That's how cool Mr. Hall is.

My name is Dawna and I have been a fan of Hall and Oates since 1972. I attended my 1st Hall and Oates concert on the east coast, a graduation present from my dad, who flew out to enjoy the concert with me and my bestfriend, Stephanie.

My favorite album has got to be H2O, that is if I have to chose just one. I have attending 150
H & O shows in 31 years and will add 2 more shows at the end of 2002. I look forward to the 2003 year as they are coming out with yet another GRREAT album on Feb 11,2003, so pick it up. I have got to meet both of them several times and am grateful for my access to them both. They are not only phenominal musicians but good guys too. My life would of been sooo different without their music in it. Thank you Daryl and John and you to Juergen for posting this.

My parents were semi into Hall and Oates. When I was born they were really into them. I remember going on trips with my dad even when I was 7 or 8 listening to them in the car.
Now they seemed to have died down on their fandom but I havent.
They have the best music. They are so free an dfun with it.
Daryl is the most amazing singer of all times. (Not too shabby to be looking at either) :)
My first concert was at the age of 3. I got separated from my dad and cousin when the crowd got rowdy and started towards the stage. i was toward the front of the stage and was getting crushed.
well, the security is forcing the crowd back, and i look up and there was daryl getting me up onstage. i ended up staying there for the rest of the show. my dad tells me that when i was up there i never stopped staring at daryl. after i got onstage i was all crying and frwaking out....i mean im 3 for gods sake and these people were crushing me. so after about 10 minutes they go back on, and i am sitting on the speaker in the back left side of the stage. and then they played "rich girl" and daryl kept wink inga t me to calm me down. IT WORKED!!!
I will never forget that show.....and them ! not only are they the greatest band of all time, but to have a personal story about them makes it a thousand times greater for me to be a fan.
I love you Daryl!!!! (and you too John) ;-)

MY HALL AND OATES PROFILE WOULD READ...BETTER LATE THAN NOT AT ALL.

I HAVE BEEN A FAN OF THEIR MUSIC, SOULS, AND SOUND FOR MANY YEARS, SINCE THE LATE 70'S

I SUPPOSE, BUT I NEVER HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE THEM PERFORM LIVE UNTIL LAST WEEK . THEY BLEW ME AWAY!

I HAD WAITED ON JOHN ONCE (IN A RESTAURANT I WORKED IN FOR MANY YEARS), AND ALL THE GROUPS WOULD STAY AT THE HOTEL THAT WAS ADJACENT TO THE RESTAURANT, BUT THAT IS AS CLOSE AS I EVER GOT. NOW THAT WE ARE ALL A BUNCH OF SUPER OLD FARTS, I WOULD LIKE TO MEET THEM AGAIN. ROCK ON BOYS, THE NEW ALBUM IS SUPERB.

LOVE TO ALL.....ROSIE

My favorite selections are " Wait For Me", "Maneater" which I believe is a great anthem for all women who are sexy and provocative,"Private Eyes" which I believe is very political, just my take on it, and from the new work " Man On A Mission" and "Do It For Love" which are just great tunes I keep singing all day long.

Hi from Spain!

My name is Maite, a Spanish fan of H&O (Barcelona), and I'm sure I am the hardest supporter of Daryl and John in my country.

I first heard about them in 1983 or 1984 (I was 17, then. Now I'm 37) when they released Maneater. I have followed their career since then.

I don't have any special favourite album, but love Sarah Smile, One on one, If a promise ain't enough and many other songs...

I have spread my devotion for them to all my friends, and I will do the same with my litle son, Victor...

bulletFavourite Song: So Close
I first became a fan when I bought my first 80s CD, and I got hooked on one song by H&O, Can't Go For That. I used to love listening to that track over and over again, and as soon as I got the internet I bought some of their albums over amazon, and I guess that's when I got officially hooked.

Why am I still a fan? Because I can listen to them over and over and over again and still never get tired of them. I often find myself singing "Camellia" during the day when I'm working, which cheers me up. I can't explain why I love their music, just that something in every song they do appeals to me.

I've been a fan since I saw Hall & Oates live in 1976 in Oxford, UK, during their "Bigger Than Both of Us" tour. Since then, Daryl Hall in particular has been an influence on my singing.

For some reason I thought I was the only Hall & Oates fan in Germany! Nice to see this website here.

I prefer the earlier albums, i.e. the "´Silver" album, "Bigger Than Both of Us", ´"Whole Oats", "Abandoned Luncheonette" etc.

My favourite songs are, among others: "Do What You Want, Be What You Are", "She's Gone", "Sarah Smile", "Camellia".

Juergen - my first marathon 2007

My favorite Hall & Oates albums:
Big Bam Boom, Along The Red Ledge, Marigold Sky, but the best "albums" were never released:
Live in Winnipeg 1991, Philadelphia 1991, Jones Beach 1991, Live unplugged at NDR 1998, Liberty Park 1985 - I'm a big fan of the live stuff.

I bought my first H&O album, because George Harrison appeared on ATRL 1978. One of the songs of this album is still one of my favorits: Melody For A Memory.
Every H&O song seems to have a own secret.

Other interests: Collecting live music (Bruce Hornsby, Tori Amos, Imogen Heap, Fleetwood Mac, Paul Carrack, Paul Simon, Sting, Suzanne Vega, Norah Jones and some more).

I'am also a fan of the films of Nicolas Cage.
